Her first decision brought her to New Orleans and college sailing, and it was college sailing that led her to Robert, an All-American sailor from Boston University. Now parents to four children who share their parents’ love of sailing, she and Robert are navigating toward success for the Tulane Sailing Team as well, having endowed a gift that brought the program back to varsity status in 2018.

Tulane’s storied sailing history dates back to the program’s founding in 1941. Tulane earned a national championship in the sport in 1974 and has nurtured the sailing careers of alumni who went on to compete in the Olympics. When Libby Alexander sailed at Tulane, the program was in the top 10 in the nation. With the dedication and foresight of supporters like the Alexanders, the program is showing its true colors again.
