When I arrived as an intern at Boston Children’s Hospital in 1980, I was well-prepared to manage the sickest of children. My research experience at Tulane as a medical student and my public health degree also led me to stay on at Boston Children’s for my Infectious Diseases Fellowship after completing my residency. I have had a great academic career since then, which would not have been possible without my remarkable Tulane training.

Finally, I met my wife of 40 years who was from South Louisiana while I was a medical student, and we were married in New Orleans.
